کشف التغيرات الجيومورفولوجية في الساحل الغربي للمملکة العربية السعودية بين ميناء جدة الإسلامي ورأس الجرجوب

هدفت الدراسة إلى الکشف عن التغيرات الجيومورفولوجية للساحل الجنوبي لمدينة جدّة بين الميناء الإسلامي ورأس الجرجوب، بناء على مشکلة رئيسة، وهي: التمدد المتسارع لعمران المناطق الساحلية على حساب المظاهر الجيومورفولوجية، التي تشکل أساس توازن النظم الطبيعية. واعتمدت الدراسة منهجية قائمة على التحليل المکاني لبيانات متعددة المصادر، وهي: مرئيات القمر الصناعي لاندسات (1984 TM - 2016 ETM+)، صور جوية، خرائط طبوغرافية وجيولوجية، نموذج الارتفاعات الرقمية، ومعلومات حقلية)، باستخدام نظم المعلومات الجغرافية. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة تحولات في السطح خلال الفترة المعتمدة في الدراسة (32 عامًا)، وتغيرا في خط الساحل عن طريق الردم في عدة أماکن وتآکله في بعض البقع للواجهة البحرية. ووُظِّفت النتائج لتصميم خريطة جيومورفولوجية، تبرز متغيرات يرتکز عليها تفسير وتحليل تطور ميدان البحث. وأوصت الدراسة بأهمية تحديد أولويات التخطيط المکاني والإدارة السليمة للمنطقة، عن طريق التکامل بين الجيومورفولوجيا التطبيقية وعناصر التنمية المستدامة، مع إمکانية تعميم منهجية الدراسة ونتائجها على مناطق أخرى في المملکة العربية السعودية لها نفس الخصائص، باعتماد بيانات محدثة وبدقة مکانية عالية.

Abstract               

The study aimed to discover the geomorphological changes of the southern coast of the city of Jeddah between the Islamic port and Ras Jarjoub, based on a major problem as following: the accelerated expansion of urbanization of coastal areas at the expense of the geomorphological features that form the basis of the balance of natural systems. The study adopted a methodology based on spatial analysis of multi-source data: Landsat satellite images (1984 TM - 2016 ETM+) aerial photos, topographic and geological map, Digital Elevation Model (DEM), field information using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The results of the study showed shifts in the surface during the approved period of the study (32 years), and a change in the coastline through fill in several places and its erosion in some spots of the waterfront. The results were used to design a geomorphological map that highlights the variables that underpin the interpretation and analysis of the development of the field of research. The study recommended the importance of identifying priorities for spatial planning and sound management of the region, through the integration between applied geomorphology and sustainable development, with the possibility of generalizing the methodology of the study and its results to other regions in Saudi Arabia it has the same properties, by adopting updated data with high spatial resolution.
